partner for nonprofits

I partner with nonprofit communications teams to design, improve, and support websites that continue evolving longside your mission.

Most nonprofits don't need a full-time web manager. They need someone they can trust whenever website needs arise.

That's where I come in.

Testimonials

What it's like
working together

"We have worked with Tona Ramos for several years to keep our program's website updates, fresh and relevant to our site visitors. Not only does Tona provide clear communication and timely project delivery, but he also thoughtfully provides suggestions that further improve the website's function and design. We truly could not ask for a better, more professional web designer!"

Jamie Richardson
Senior Communications Specialist, Office of Civic Engagement & Immigrant Affairs | City & County of San Francisco

"I'm really pleased with not just the quality of Tona's work, but the care and thoughtfulness he has brought to our website. He has been consistent and responsive throughout—and what stands out most is his ability to approach design through a culturally competent lens, taking the time to understand the community we serve."

Maria Arteaga
Development & Communications Manager, The Women’s Building

"Working with Tonatiuh for over three years has been a delight. Beyond his technical skill and reliability, we truly appreciate his straightforwardness. With web design, it can sometimes seem difficult to arrive at a shared vision, balancing what is doable with what is desired. Tonatiuh is excellent at facilitating these conversations, leading to wonderful design work that exceeded our expectations each time. Cooperacion Santa Ana is proud to be a repeat client of Tonatiuh's."

Ambereen Siddiqui
Operations Manager, Cooperación Santa Ana

"It has been a pleasure working with Tona and all things IT at our organization. We are a young organization, and Tona's diverse skillset is extremely helpful as we face not only day-to-day challenges with technology, but also with suggesting and implementing new systems. Tona created a beautiful website for us that is also very user friendly. Most importantly, Tona is always extremely friendly, very responsive and quick!!"

Executive Director, THRIVE Santa Ana Community Land Trust

More than a web designer. A partner your team can count on.

I become an extension of your team, supporting your website long after launch.

From campaign pages and content updates to technical troubleshooting and strategic guidance, I help nonprofit organizations keep their digital presence aligned with their mission without needing another full-time staff member.

Embedded in Your Team

I work alongside your communications team and become familiar with your goals, processes, and priorities.

Ongoing Website Support

Reliable support for updates, improvements, troubleshooting, and everything in between.

Technical Guidance

Thoughtful recommendations that help you make confident digital decisions.

Responsive Communication

Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and a partner who understands your organization.

A Different Kind of Partnership

Why partner with one person instead of an agency?

Typical Agency Experience
Larger teams with higher overhead
Different people work on your website.
Time spent bringing new people up to speed
Communication changes depending on the project.
Relationships often end after launch.
Working With Me
One dedicated partner who knows your organization.
Long-term familiarity with your organization
Faster updates because I already understand your website.
Direct communication from start to finish.
Strategic guidance as your organization grows.

My work is built on three things: clarity, fairness, and genuine partnership.

Process

Built around collaboration, not handoffs.

Every nonprofit works differently.

I adapt to your team's workflow, communication style, and priorities so the website becomes one less thing to worry abou

1. Discovery & Strategy

I start by getting to know your organization your goals, audiences, and what’s working (or not) with your current website. From there, we map out what your site needs to do to truly support your mission.

2. Plan Together

I create a structure and design that fits your brand and team capacity. If you need help refining your messaging, I can help shape content that’s clear, bilingual (if needed), and action-driven.

3. Design & Build

Create an accessible, easy-to-manage website that reflects your mission. I bring your new website to life using the best tools for your team. I handle setup, optimization, and training.

4. Continue Supporting

After launch, I'm still here to help your website evolve alongside your organization.

FAQs

How involved do we need to be?

Not much, I handle the technical side and guide you through decisions step by step. You’ll always know what’s happening, but you won’t need to manage the process day to day.

If you already have a clear vision, I can bring it to life quickly and accurately. And if you’re not sure where to start, I’ll lead a short discovery process to find the right direction and make thoughtful suggestions along the way. Either way, your feedback stays part of the process so we end up with a website that truly fits your organization.

What if we already have a website?

That’s totally fine, most of the organizations I work with already have an existing site. I can step in to handle ongoing maintenance, fix issues, or make design and content improvements without disrupting what’s already there.

If your site needs a bigger refresh, we can also plan a phased redesign, updating it section by section so it feels like a smooth transition instead of starting from scratch.

Whether your site is on WordPress, Wix, or another platform, I’ll meet you where you are and help make it easier to manage, faster, and more effective for your team.

What platforms do you work with?

I work with Webflow, WordPress, Wix, and Shopify. Depending on what your team already uses and what makes the most sense for your goals.

All my new builds are done mostly in Webflow because it’s a professional designer tool that gives me full creative flexibility without relying on heavy plugins or custom code. It’s faster, more secure, and easier to maintain long-term.

That said, I have years of experience with WordPress (and continue to maintain many client sites there), as well as Wix and Shopify. If your site is already on one of those platforms, I’ll meet you where you are and make sure everything runs smoothly.

We’re still figuring out our messaging and visuals, is that okay?

Absolutely. You don’t need a full brand strategy to start. As part of the website process, I help organizations refine their visuals, tone, and structure so the site communicates clearly and feels cohesive.

How much does a project cost?

Most redesign nonprofit website projects I take on range between $3,000 and $8,000, depending on the size and scope. Ongoing support plans start around $325/month for small organizations.

Every organization is different, so I like to stay flexible, sometimes that means starting with a short-term collaboration or maintenance phase to see how we work together before committing to a larger redesign or retainer.

Once we talk, I’ll send a clear proposal that fits your goals and budget.

What happens after launch?

I provide ongoing maintenance and update plans for clients who want continued support, but it’s completely optional. You’ll always own your website and have full access to everything. Some clients manage their site independently, while others prefer to keep me on for regular improvements and troubleshooting. Either way works fine.
