Overview
The Women’s Building is one of San Francisco’s most iconic community institutions, a women-led, immigrant-centered nonprofit serving the community for over 50 years.
When we began working together in 2021, they weren’t looking for a redesign. They were looking for reliability.
What started as website maintenance became a long-term strategic partnership, one that evolved into a full migration, redesign, and restructuring of a complex digital ecosystem.
Today, the site supports advocacy, programs, fundraising campaigns, event rentals, community resources, multilingual access, and an ever-growing content library, all managed through a scalable Webflow architecture.
The Challenge
The previous WordPress site had limitations:
- Supporting a growing volume of content (news, resources, and cooperative profiles)
- Ensuring the site worked well across devices
- Aligning technical decisions with the organization’s values
- Creating space to showcase the cooperatives they support in a meaningful, visual way
The organization was growing.
The site was not built to scale with it.
Campaigns, events, program updates, board changes, annual reports, investor pages, everything required constant updates.
The real challenge wasn’t design.
It was building a system that could grow with a living organization.

Long Term Parnertship
We meet weekly to touch base on updates, new initiatives, and anything evolving within the organization. Sometimes it’s small refinements. Other times it’s launching a full campaign page. The rhythm stays consistent.
- We adjust messaging.
- We iterate continuously.
- We build campaign pages.
- We build new sections as programs grow.
The work continues to evolve alongside the organization.
And so does our collaboration.
